Description:
This course is for Afghan women eager to develop their advanced English language skills further. Through hands-on learning and real-world examples, students will develop their English proficiency and ideally complete a TOEFL test at the end so that they might pursue their studies at international universities or find employment in international organizations.
Target Audience
This course is designed for Afghan female students with an advanced English language level who want to give their English skills their final boost. With the ban on schooling and university attendance for Afghan girls and women after August 15, 2021, this course becomes essential. It aims to keep education alive and motivate Afghan girls to pursue their studies and careers despite the challenges.

What You’ll Learn:
We aim at equipping female Afghans to master English and to pass a TOEFL test so that they can pursue their studies at international universities.
Therefore, we will focus on the following six language aspects
- Reading B2 → C1
- Listening B2 → C1
- Writing B2 → C1
- Speaking B2 → C1
- Grammar
- Vocabulary

Selection procedure:
The following outlines the procedure for the selection process.
- The initial step is to submit the application form.
- Subsequently, applicants are invited to participate in an online English test, the objective of which is to assess their level of English proficiency.
- Should you achieve the requisite level in the aforementioned test, you will be invited to participate in an oral interview.
- Finally, you will be required to complete a short writing task.
This procedure ensures that a well-qualified cohort of students with a high probability of achieving the course objective (passing the TOEFL at C1) is selected.
Enrollment Requirements:
- Own a laptop
- Possess at least advanced English language skills (see the selection process described above)
- Competence in using the Windows operating system, email, video calling services, and file sharing via Google Drive
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies
- Stable internet connection
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Windows applications (Word & PowerPoint)
- Attendance Requirement: Regular attendance throughout the course is mandatory
- Participants must keep their camera turned on during class sessions
- A refund will be issued if a participant decides to leave the course before its completion
Times:
The course will start on 15.6.2024. The course is twice a week (wednesday and thursday) between 4.30-6.00 pm Kabul time.
Certificate:
Upon successful completion of the online course, you will receive a certificate from the Academy for Further Education of the University of Education Freiburg, Germany.
Organizing institutions:
The course is organized by the Working Group Afghanistan in close collaboration with the Academy for Further Education at the University of Education Freiburg.
After successfully completing the course online, including assignments and projects, participants will receive a certificate from the University of Education Freiburg.
Students will receive financial support to cover their internet expenses, if needed.
